Save money while you read
I love to read..I hate to spend a lot of money on a paperback book I read once. Here is what I've done to save a few dollars, recycle and help my friends. There is a group of four of my friends and I who love to read. We have similar likes in reading and of course some we don't share. So we have a round robin of books that we have read. As soon as I finish a new book I put my name inside the cover in pencil with a y if I want it back or n if I don't and pass it to friend number 1. She reads it (or not) and then passes it to friend number 2 who continues the cycle. As each of us reads a new book we send it along the chain. When my book hits the last friend on the list she returns it to me along with any other book she may have read. IF
I've indicated I do not want the book back it goes into a bag for the charity of our choice. This is a fun way to save money on books. If you are like me, I like to buy books at a used book store or thrift stores. They are a fraction of the cost and I can find a lot of books written by my favorite authors. Because we donate them to charity when we are done they are getting another life. |
